Museo de Arte de Ponce delivers supplies in Guayanilla

Ponce – The Museo de Arte de Ponce continues to bring relief to communities in the southwest municipalities of the island affected by the earthquakes. As part of its management of contributing to improve the quality of life of the communities in the region, a group of employees together with the Executive Director of the Museum, Alejandra Peña Gutiérrez, delivered the donated supplies at the collection center that established the Museum in its facilities.

The delivery took place in front of the public square of the Municipality of Guayanilla, where a hundred people gathered to receive toiletries, as well as water boxes, carbonated drinks and packaged cookies.

“This article delivery is a product of the generosity of people who approached our institution and took their donations. At a time when our population faces the devastating effects of the earthquakes, it is our responsibility to go out, with our resources, to contribute to the recovery of the region to which we belong, ”reiterated Alejandra Peña Gutiérrez, executive director of the Museum, referring to the motto that combines the community initiatives of the institution.

“The Museum goes out” represents the institution’s commitment to the community. The Museum took to the street just one week from the earthquake on January 7 to offer art workshops in the shelters of the region. Peña Gutiérrez added that currently, this is the most important project carried out by the institution for the public. These workshops are already being integrated into the work of the schools, which offer their classes under tents located in parks and land in the region.
